Special Town Board Meeting

Title: Special Town Board Meeting
Location: Rosendale Community Center
Description: The Rosendale Town Board and Zoning Review Committee (ZRC) invite all residents, businesses
and landowners to participate in a public meeting to discuss proposed changes to the zoning code.
The proposed changes are intended to update the zoning to meet the recommendations of the most
recent Comprehensive Plan. Topic for discussion include: the protection of natural resources such as
watercourses, water bodies, wetlands, hillsides and karst topography; conservation subdivisions;
design standards; planned development districts; development review procedures; expansion of the
Main Street B-1 zoning district and other code changes.
Copies of the proposed changes will be made available online prior to the meeting at
www.rosendalezrc.org. The meeting will take place June 16th, 2010 at 7:30 pm at the Rosendale
Recreation Center. All are invited to attend.

The Town of Rosendale is sponsoring a Public Workshop to discuss potential changes to the zoning codes to meet the recommendations of the most recent Comprehensive Plan. All landowners and residents are invited to participate in this first public workshop for this project. Topics for discussion:

  • Potential zoning changes to the hamlet areas of Rosendale, High Falls, Cottekill, Tillson, Lawrenceville, Binnewater, Bloomington and Maple Hill
  • Zoning overlays for the protection of natural resources
  • Conservation Subdivisions
  • Gateway Overlay Districts
  • Design guidelines for commercial, industrial and multifamily development
  • Zoning Tools: Conservation Subdivisions and Planned Unit Developments

This site was created to serve as a convenient, accessible and informative source for all matters relating to the process of Zoning Code Review.

This committee is comprised of volunteer residents of Rosendale, Tilson, Cottekill, Bloomington whose purpose and goal is to review the current zoning code, compare it to the existing Comprehensive Plan and draft changes and updates to the code which will reflect the stated goals of the Comprehensive Plan.
